Drop kerbs
The programme of putting in drop kerbs through Tradespark in Nairn by contractors working for Highland Council has now been completed with 40 kerbs dropped, 35 with tactile paving being installed at the same time.
This provides much improved walking, wheeling and disability access on Tradespark housing estate and onto Moss Side Road. A lot of the credit for this happening at all must go to the Nairn Access Panel who pushed hard to get this work undertaken.
Seagulls byelaw
Seagulls are a continuing problem in parts of Nairn and an interesting suggestion has come my way from a resident that we make it an offence to feed the seagulls. Whether this is possible and at what cost are good questions but I’ve asked council officers to investigate. In the mean time if you do like feeding birds please do try to do so in a way that doesn’t also feed seagulls.
Grant Street Yard
A reminder that the consultation on the Yard, which I’ve discussed here before, closes this Friday, 17th March. When there was a thread about this on Facebook various people responded with some interesting ideas but when I asked officers they had received very few responses to the consultation. So if you do want to respond, but haven’t yet, then you need to do so this week.
