Happy New Year
A belated Happy New Year to you all. In 2023 I did actually complete my new year’s resolution for the first time I can remember by reading 52 books in a year which reminds me, wearing my councillor hat, that if you become a member of High Life Highland then not only can you borrow books from Nairn library but you can also borrow e-books online too, including audio books. They also offer online access to a wide variety of newspapers and magazines. This is all ultimately paid for by Highland Council and free for you to use and I can thoroughly recommend it.
Montgomerie Drive Estate buses
As previously discussed here the new routes for both the Auldearn School Bus and the Service 11 bus come into effect from tomorrow morning, Monday, 8th January and they will now go around the estate anti-clockwise.
The route map is shown below. The school bus will do the loop into Burnside marked in orange and stops 5 and 6, service 11 won’t.
The pole and “flag” at stop 3 may not yet be in place (I’ve not had a change to walk over and check) but the bus will still stop there anyway.
Other snippets
The bridge on the A939 at Dava, which had been closed since September, re-opened on 22nd December.
Don’t forget that you can re-cycle your Christmas tree at the Nairn re-cycling centre on Grantown Road rather than putting it in the green bin.
Nominations for community councillors for Cawdor & West Nairnshire, East Nairnshire, and Nairn West & Suburban open later this month.
