Ardersier MCA
This week the council considered Masterplan Consent Areas at three locations, one at Ardersier and two others at Essich Road in Inverness and at Embo in Sutherland. The map below shows the land under consideration east of Ardersier and the proposal is to build 400 homes on the site (a reduction from the original proposal for “up to 600 homes”).
I was unable to take part in the debate on this item due to a conflict of interest. You can find the paper here and appendix 5 (start at page 35) details the results of the first round of public engagement. The council voted by 38 to 29 with 1 abstention to move forward to the next stage.
This is just the next step in the process. All three applications will come to the relevant Planning Applications Committee two times and then back to full council before any MCA is “made”, assuming it passes all these steps.
Road closures
We have a number of closures going on in Nairn this coming week - all BT/Openreach related.
In Monday, 18th May Marine Road is being close along the section shown in the map below.
Various roads in Fishertown will be closed between 08:00 on Monday, 18th May and 18:00 on Friday, 22nd May.
The closures will include sections of King Street, Wilson Street, Society Street and Caledonian Street as shown on the map below.
Local diversions will be in place as necessary on all these closures.
